Letters to the Editor
We have had two days in a row of a positive letter being printed in the Eagle! Thanks to my great supporters, Ryan Campbell and Jana McMillan, who sent in these great letters! I'll reproduce them below from http://www.theeagle.com/letters.
From Tuesday, April 27th:
A young man full of energy and drive
I am endorsing Jess Fields because I have met a young man who is full of energy, drive and thought. With Jess, what you see is what you get. He is not "dug in" with special interests, he flies his own plane. He understands the need to be fiscally conservative, which diametrically opposes the status quo spend and think later that we currently see on the College Station City Council.
This a council whose members allow the city administration run them, rather than the other way around. It is time to elect leadership on the council who says no, we cannot bilk the people or spend their hard- earned money without considering the consequences of the actions.
It is a time when tax revenues are less than previous years, and when our Texas oil and gas economy can become extinct by current "green legislation" in the federal government. Thus, we must elect a candidate who guards our city's revenues and makes them go farther rather than faster.
We are in a time when we must maintain our current city services and stop funding projects with the money the city makes off College Station Utilities.
It is time to listen to the residents' vote. It is time to stop pouring millions of our tax dollars into lawsuits because the current city council and city administrations spend first and think later.
I find that the good common-sense approach that Jess Fields has set forth shows he knows the issues, he doesn't speak political "candidatese," and he will listen to the people, not the building and construction development special interest groups.
Let's elect someone with fresh ideas, who knows the issues, and someone who has not sold his soul to special interests.

From Wednesday, April 28th:
Time for someone new on the council
The voters of College Station have the opportunity to elect a city councilman who brings a breath of fresh air to the table. Given the council's recent history of poor judgment and ignoring the will of the citizens, it is time to send someone on new to the council chamber.
That person is Jess Fields. I strongly encourage the voters of College Station to elect someone new to the council instead of those who support the same old business as usual.
